How NOT to achieve impact: a panel discussion

📢Upcoming Event📢

Understanding the concept of impact can be quite complex, as it is often perceived differently in academic and business contexts. This lack of connection frequently results in misunderstandings and missed opportunities. Defining something often requires first figuring out what it is not. That is why we have chosen to investigate what does not constitute impact. So, let's take a different perspective on this: What is not impact, how not to achieve impact.

Join us for an engaging and interactive discussion at the “How not to achieve impact” event, organised by StartHub Wageningen.

Whether you're already working with impact or simply passionate about learning more, this event is for you. Our expert panel, consisting of professionals from various backgrounds and positions, will share their experiences and insights.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect and define impact together.

Microbe Magic: A two-part event on food fermentation

Food fermentation is an ancient art but has also increased in popularity recently. Whether you are a seasoned fermenter or just have an interest in food, come discover the magic behind food fermentation during the “Microbe Magic” event, a two-part food fermentation event. This event is organised as a collaboration between StartHub Wageningen and the study association Nicolas Appert and consists of two parts.

From Grape to Glass: Navigating sustainable wine culture

StartHub is excited to announce that the next event on January 23rd, organised in collaboration with Enactus Wageningen project MuMo, is a panel discussion on sustainable wine called “from Grape to Glass: navigating sustainable wine culture”.

A lot of people drink and enjoy wine, some like to spend a little more and buy bottles of higher-quality wine. However, as a student, the cheaper bottles can also be very tempting. With the ever-increasing awareness of the sustainability of the products that we use regardless of price and quality, the same questions arise for wine. How sustainable is the wine industry? Does a more expensive bottle also equate to a more sustainable product? Does organic mean it is also sustainable?

During the panel discussion, everyone in the audience is free to ask any question they might have about sustainable wine. Our panel including experts from Pirolito, Wageningen University, Wine Stories and more will answer your questions during this evening.

Into the Blue

Circular by nature; the availability and quality of water is crucial for the humans, and the environment. However, the current water crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Urban water demand leads to higher wastewater and water pollution depleting our natural resources and affecting the ecosystems. Climate change further exacerbates pre-existing water stresses.

On 28th of February, from 19:00-21:00, StartHub is organising “Into the Blue” to shed light on how businesses offer circular ecosystem solutions that embrace resilience and inclusiveness of nature.

From maintenance of coral reefs and its impact on livelihoods, to looking at water filtering systems particularly salient in urban areas.
