How do I start a company in NL?
Have a validated business plan/ idea. (Tip: Get in contact with universities, incubators and/ or accelerators to help you with this.)
Decide which legal structure fits your business the best;
Get your company registered in Kamer van Koophandel (Dutch Chamber of Commerce);
For expats there is a possibility to apply for a Start-up visa. This also needs minimal a solid business plan and distinguishing innovative business idea. Please talk with us if you have questions about this issue.

My name is Suradj Hiralal and I work for Oost NL in the Business Development Food team. I’m an alumni of the Wageningen University & Research and have worked as a board member for the incubator StartHub Wageningen.
My responsibilities Oost NL include:
Develop innovative busines cases in mainly the Agri/ Food domain;
Advise businesses on their investor and market readiness;
Advise on applicable regional, national and European subsidy schemes.

I live in Wageningen with my family, so the StartHub is so to say in my backyard. I am a MSC & PhD graduate of Wageningen UR. Trained in plant-breeding and evolutionary biology, I made a career switch to become a project- and innovation-manager at BASF, the chemical company. After a 7 year period in this multinational in various tasks and roles, I started my own innovation consultancy Matching Innovation. I am proud of the establishment of a nationwide network of innovation managers of mostly large companies, together with two other consultants. To have more impact and to work in a larger team, I joined Oost NL in 2013 in the agrofood business development team. At this moment, I am a senior projectmanager and business coach – this last role I also fulfill for StartLife.

Oost NL is financed by the government. Our business coaches will not charge any fee for their services. We do need your support in evaluation of our services and in measuring your business results.
