Heidi de Bruin MBA is a serial entrepreneur in sustainable initiatives with expertise in IT and the food and energy transition. She has a long track record as a shareholder and CEO of international companies where her expertise is vision, strategy, marketing and business development. Currently, she is working on innovative solutions on the internet (several platforms), working with Ministries on ultra innovative hydroplants in the Netherlands (sustainable energy initiatives) and she is mentoring at StartHub with a focus on innovative tech platforms including AI and Machine Learning.

She has worked in over 40 countries across the world in food, tech and energy sustainable initiatives. In 2014 she founded Protifarm (now Ynsect) which is now the largest insect ingredient producing company in the world. She ran the company as CEO for several years. She has run a commercial business for a Dutch flavor company in Asia Pacific based in Bangkok, Thailand and worked with local representatives in Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines etc. She is advisor at Foodvalley NL on sustainable ingredients (insects) e.g. for the Nationaal Groeifonds. Since 2021 she is mentor at Starthub Wageningen.
